Dry-Type Distribution

Distribution transformers are so named because they distribute low voltage power (5KV and below) to the customers who use electricity at the end of the supply grid. “Dry type” simply means it is cooled by normal air ventilation.
The dry type transformer does not require a liquid such as oil or silicone or any other liquid to cool the electrical core and coils. The transformer case is ventilated to allow air to flow and cool the coil (coils). Because they are “dry-type” they contain no dangerous fluids and require no special fire proof vaults or venting of toxic gases. These safety features allow dry type transformers to be installed inside buildings and in locations close to the consumer, which improves overall transformer efficiency. Dry type transformers are safe, efficient and trouble-free. They require minimum maintenance to provide many years of reliable trouble free service.

For use with AC and DC adjustable speed drives which generate mechanical stresses and harmonic currrents beyond the design criteria of normal general purpose transformers.
Enclosure 3R provides superior protection from rain, sleet or snow.
Also suitable for indoor use in tunnels, mines and pumping stations where dripping and splashing water is a problem.
Enclosure type 3R provides superior protection from rain, sleet or snow. Also suitable for indoor use in tunnels, mines and pumping stations where drilling and splashing water is a problem.
Designed to withstand the harshest indoor and outdoor applications, our epoxy encapulated transformers are completely enclosed in Type 3R enclosures and provide safe, reliable protection from corrosive atmospheres, hazardous gases, dust and moisture. For use in pulp and paper plants, steel mills, petrochemical plants, food processing facilities, breweries, mines, marine and shipboard installations. Certified for Class 1, Division 2 group A-D locations with a temperature classification of T3C, T4 and T5. Available with 4X stainless steel enclosures.

The DOUBLE HARMONIC SWEEPERTM gives you the opportunity to treat the 3rd, 5th &
7th harmonics with a single transformer having a double secondary with both 0 degree and 30 degree phase displacement. Furthermore the DOUBLE HARMONIC SWEEPER has a low impedance with low voltage distortion, because the triplen harmonics are cancelled in the magnetic circuit and do not circulate in the primary winding. The 5th and 7th harmonics are eliminated due to the phase shift angle of 30° between the two outputs .
This harmonic cancellation transformer may be used with loads having a high content of 3rd,
5th & 7th harmonics like line-neutral rectifiers. The DOUBLE HARMONIC SWEEPER™ is an effective double phase shift transformer (similar to a delta/double zig-zag). Simply install the unit, split and equally balance the non-linear load between the double outputs, and the harmonic content will be effectively reduced.
Designed for installation within cabinets where no additional individual enclosure is required. Suitable for feeding MCC's and switchgear where space is at a premium.
